Adolescents, teenagers and women have been accused of preventing unprotected abortion to verify maternal deaths. The importance of detailed data on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) was also argued to spread effective information and improve efforts for better procedures.

It was in a three-day skill-in-work workshop on multiplying female voices in the state of Lagos, which was organized by a leadership initiative (life) for the youth power and supported by a change in Lagos yesterday.

Talking about data on adolescents, youth and women’s sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), consultant obstetrician, General Hospital Mushin, Dr. Mudeen Adekun, Common Pregnancy Complications Blood, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes , Random abortion and immunity, there are major causes of maternal deaths.

He emphasized the importance of the SRHR, which promotes gender equality, breaks the cycle of poverty through family control, reduces maternal mortality and sickness, and empowers adolescents and young people.

He said it helps to prevent early and compulsory marriage, fight HIV/AIDS and other STIs, improve mental and emotional well -being, and protect the rights of marginalized groups.

According to him, SRHR requirements for adolescents and young people are comprehensive sex education (CSE) for safe abortion and abortion, protection from sex -based violence (GPV) and harmful practices.

In 2022, the UNFA’s research Africa said that one of four women in Africa did not have modern contraception, and that modern contraceptive measures (MCPR) had 28 per cent and Nigeria had 12 per cent.
