The IJov Diaspora (ITC) has called on the Toru-eBay and oil rivers states from existing Izao territories to emphasize the need for justice and equality in Nigeria’s current restructuring process.
The request was in an open letter, addressing the President Bola Tinubu, who signed the ITC President Professor Chelle Mondi Gold and dated 10, 2025.
The letter to the Guardian illustrates historical and socio-political justifications for the proposed states.
According to the ITC, the Toru-Ebay state is considered a political and economic fortress in the state of Delta, Edo and Onto, which combines them as a company that enhances their voice in governance, environmental protection and development.
Similarly, the oil rivers include the Izao communities in the state rivers and the states of the Aqua Ibom states, which allows them to restore their heritage, restore their ITY blouse and regain political foreign exchange.
One part of the letter: “The IJW Diaspora (ITC) members, its global headquarters, are located in the United States, with the United Kingdom and Australia’s administrative offices, the entire Izao migrants, and the weight of history is pressed on them.
“We are coming to overcome the joint voice of a people who have not been long for a long time, but this letter is not merely, but a fair, respectful and firm need for the establishment of two unique states from the Nigerian Federation within the Nigerian Confederation. In the struggle to lead, from deep historical contributions, it arises with other ethnic nationalities.
“Despite the continuous unity, peace and security, there are great political, economic and financial contributions to generations, we want to remind Mr. the President of the Mr. President for the legitimate and inevitable demands of the people who have been properly marginalized and silent, and the prosperity of the nation.
“Decades of Political Balkanization: For decades, the people of Izao have been divided in these regions, and in many states have been formally reduced to a minority, and they have refused to use their joint political wishes. It helps them to ensure the space, while inherently connected to the land where they live, ensures timely environmental protection.
“Using Economic Efficiency: With its abundance of oil and gas reserves, prosperous aquariums and agricultural skills, the Toru-Ebay will not only contribute significantly to national revenue, but also enhance its economic resources to promote sustainable growth. Remedy, which will ensure the most equal and stable distribution of national wealth.
“High peace and confirmation of amiti: ethnic tensions in the Niger Delta are primarily from political exclusion, unequal distribution of resources, and unresolved damage to environmental livelihoods.
“The oil rivers will include the Izao communities in the state of the state and the Aqua Ibom, and the power to restore their heritage, restore their ITY blouse and regain political foreign exchange.
“Environmental Justice: Izao Homeland has suffered the most severe environmental disasters in the world. A government dedicated to the people of Ijo will help to enforce and implement policies to protect their land, waterways and biodiversity, ensuring environmental justice for future generations.
“Growth and Federal Balance: Izao people are severely represented in infrastructure development. The oil rivers will act as an administrative center, attracting federal investment and provoking international alliances that will promote growth in the fields of education, health, agriculture/fisheries, blue economy and transport. It also serves as a catalyst for the protection of Izao culture, language and heritage, which is threatened by existentialism because it is fragmented.
“Toru-ebay and oil rivers say-this will allow the Izao people to be fairly integrated into the Nigerian Federation.”
The letter also pointed out that the demand for the creation of states was an emergency call for justice, role, national stability and safety.
This added, “This is not a technical adjustment within management machines – this is a compulsion to survive, and a limited moment for the overall future of Niger Delta and Nigeria.
“It is not a political cost of creating the states of Toru -eBay and oil rivers; this is a moral and legal responsibility. An emergency move to protect the weakness we are experiencing today, to protect stability, and to avoid further conflict within the region. One of them.
“The creation of these states will provide an important path to the authority of the people of Izao and the peaceful determination of the regional and the country.
“The President of Nigeria, the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives are urged to prioritize this important demand within the structure of the current Constitutional Review process.
