The deadline for social subsidized recipients to transfer their cards has been extended until March 20.

Communication and Digital Technology Department spokesman Qwena Moloto said: “Sasa refers to the date of stopping gold cards, not the last day to apply for the new card.

“After March 20, beneficiaries can apply and receive their post bank black cards,” he said.

Molodo said the decision to extend the deadline after receiving the concerns expressed by the subsidized recipients.

“We have noticed deep concerns and frustrations from our social subsidized users. We hope that this extension will provide them with a lot of time.

“We are strongly encouraged to ensure that our beneficiaries are switching as much as possible to Black Postbank Card, before the March 20 deadline.

“After the March 20 deadline, we would like to emphasize that subsidy allowances will continue as usual. If the beneficiaries do not exchange their cards, their subsidies will still be paid, but they must visit their nearby post office branch to access their funds,” he said.
