Lagos State Governor Babajite Sanvo-Alu has promised to support the Lagos Food Bank initiative (LFPI) in the country to reduce hunger.
Sanvo-Olu said this in Lagos when she launched a new food warehouse, Dr. Michael Sunbola in 2006 since the establishment of this initiative.
Agriculture Commissioner Abhisola Olusanya represented the Governor LFPI group, promoting its commitment and referring to the lighthouse of hope.
He added: “Your tireless efforts to serve the needy will not be noticed, and as a government, we are committed to supporting efforts like you. Beyond today, we are taking firm steps to increase food production, improve logistics and strengthen social security nets.
“When we cut the tape today, let it be greater than opening a warehouse. Let it stand as a proof of our shared determination. The reminder that Lagos is not only the city of trade and industrial, but also the city of compassion and community.”
The governor’s wife, Ebijok Sanvo-Alu, in his good wishes, appealed to the good-natured and general enthusiastic Nigerians as a partner with LFPI.
In his comments, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Emmanuel, encouraged the goat to engage in agriculture to ensure food safety of young children and girls, emphasizing the state’s commitment to horticulture.
On February 14 this year, Sunnola discovered her journey to establish the LFPI, indicating its ninth anniversary; He recalled that this was not part of the dream of his life.
