Rare Salvador Tale Art Gallery comes to India for the first time

Although the Spanish Surrealist Salvador Dalle has never visited India, his artwork’s exhibition is being held in the country for the first time.

Beginning on Friday, an exhibition in the capital Delhi will show more than 200 comprehensive collections in his original paintings, engraving and watercolor paintings.

The collection was compiled by French collector Pierre Arcillat, the daughter of Christine Arcillet, who was Dalai’s friend and publisher.

“Dalia was attracted by India, especially in the 1960s and 1970s to the west of Indian fairy tale,” Mrs. Arcillat told the BBC.

Some of the paintings in the collection were based on photos of his father during his journey to India in the 1970s, and when the hippie movement was at its peak, young guitar-toteing Americans visited India in spiritual quests.
