Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Washington DC on Thursday (local time) for a bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the White House planned on February 12-13 indicates the fourth week of Trump’s second post.

The meeting between the two leaders came amid the tensions around Trump’s trade fees, his controversial Gaza Peace Scheme and his continued deportation of illegal immigrants. These issues may be important in their debate as both leaders seek to strengthen bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Modi will be the fourth global leader who met Trump in the White House since taking office on January 20.

The US president has already compiled Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japan’s Prime Minister Shikheru Ishiba and King Abdullah of Jordan in the early weeks of his second president.

During his visit, Prime Minister Modi is also expected to meet Elon Musk in Washington. Reports suggest that the two leaders can discuss Starling’s delayed plans to launch satellite broadband services in India.
