President Asif Ali Zardari condoled Prince Rahim al-Husini on Monday when his father, Prince Karim Aha Khan, died in Lisbon last week.
President Zardari, who came to Lisbon today, said that the nation mourned the loss of a “true friend” and a “best -paced person”, saying that he expressed his heartfelt sympathy on behalf of the people of Pakistan and the government.
Prince Karim Aga Khan – The 49th hereditary Imam of Ismailis – who was famous for his success in horse racing, great wealth and global development, breathed his last term at the age of 88 at the age of 88, Portugal’s Lisbon.
One day after his funeral in Lisbon, Portugal, Prince Karim was buried in Aswan, Egypt, at a private burial ceremony on Sunday.
Following the demise of Prince Karim, Aka Khan’s Development Network (AKDN) announced that Prince Rahim al-Husini Aka Khan was declared the 50th hereditary Imam, at the will of the late spiritual leader, in the presence of his family and senior community leaders.
According to today’s report, President Zardari added that the late Aga Khan has touched himself as he passed away, with personal relationships with him.
He praised Aga Khan’s contribution to the social and economic development of Pakistan, especially in health care, education, social development and eradication of poverty. “His visionary leadership has improved the lives of people in Pakistan and other regions of the world,” he said.
When he learned that Aga Khan was passing, the president said he was on an official journey to China. He said he would visit Lisbon to pay tribute to the late Prince Karim Aga Khan’s pilgrimage and humanitarian work and that his services to humanity would always be remembered.
President Zardari said that Prince Rahim al-Husini would continue his father’s work for the reason for mankind.
