All National Highway Toll Plazas operate on the ICD 2.5 protocol, which provides real -time tag status. Therefore, customers can recharge their fastest at any time.
New Fastak Rules 2025: The NHAI has released a clarification on the new Fastak Rules 2025, saying that customers can recharge at any time before crossing the toll plaza. Several reports in the fastest taxes have multiple reports of many unprecedented transactions for more than 60 minutes per time and 10 minutes after reading time. All National Highway Toll Plazas operate on the ICD 2.5 protocol, which provides real -time tag status. Therefore, customers can recharge their fastest at any time.
“The Circular No NPCI/2024-25/NETC/004A, dated 28.01.2025 National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) will have no impact on Fastag customer experience.” The NPCI circular is to facilitate the resolution of the fastest status between the buyer and the provider bank, while the vehicle crosses the toll plazas. It also stated that “fastest transactions are also aimed at ensuring that a Toll Plaza is created within a legitimate time of passing the Plaza, so that customers are not hurt by delayed transactions.”
Connect the fastest wallet with UPI
NHAI has asked Fastak customers to connect their fastest wallet with UPI/current/storage accounts under the Auto Reshapage system to eliminate the need for manual recharges. Using UPI, net banking and more, customers can recharge their fasteach at any time before reaching the figure. Some toll plazas on the state highways are still in the ICD 2.4 protocol, which requires regular updates of the tag level. All such toll plazas are scheduled to be transferred to the ICD 2.5 protocol.
