China released guidelines on Friday as part of promoting biotech cultivation, focusing on genetic editing, developing new wheat, corn and soybean, ensuring food safety and increasing agricultural technology.
The 2024-2028 project aims to achieve “independent and controlled” seed sources for major crops, focusing on high yields, multi-resistant wheat, corn and high oil, high yield soybean and rapseed varieties.
China has intensified its efforts to increase the domestic yield of major crops such as soybeans, which reduces the import of imports from countries like the United States in the midst of a trade war.
The document promised to research and develop accurate gene-editing equipment with independent intellectual assets and improves major cultivation technologies.
In addition, efforts to raise high -efficient livestock will include pigs, including strong reproductive capacity and high fodder conversion rate and immune broiler chickens.
