ISLAMABAD: National Legislative Speaker Ayas Sadiq denied the comments made by the Islamabad High Court judge, saying that they were a “attack on parliament.”

Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, Sadiq said that the views of justice were an attack on the legislature and that no one had the right to make vile opinion on parliament.

Sadiq also asked law minister Assam Nasir Tarar to report to the judge that “Parliament is high.”

The Speaker also noted that the government and the opposition had written separate letters on the appointment of the Election Commissioner.

IHC’s Justice Mohsin Akhtar Gayani today challenges the results of the Federal Public Service Commission (FBSC) examination.

“The pillars of the judiciary, parliament and administration have collapsed; the pillar of the judiciary is in the air, but we are not yet sad,” the judge said.

Speaking at an event last month, Justice Gayani said that the 26th Amendment was introduced on a letter.

“Despite the 26th Amendment, you cannot encourage us from our purposes. Such conditions have previously occurred in the history of Pakistan, and today, the people’s confidence is with the judiciary, parliament and the media.”

He added that he believed that the 26th Amendment would be heard at the end of the Supreme Court and that the issue would be resolved for the survival of the people of Pakistan.
