The mass of workers inside the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SPMA) is expected on the functioning of two major foreign companies.

SBMA Administrator Edwardo Alino announced this at the New Philippines General Conference for the public as part of his 2024 performance report.

According to Alino’s former shipbuilding company, now run by a vehicle company in South Korea, they need 15,000 workers for their operations.

“It is their promise that they will hire 15,000 workers who have hired 1,000. So, we are still looking at the next. Three to five years may be 1,000 to 15,000,” Alino said.

In addition, the SPMA leader, two other Japanese companies expand their functions and add 6,500 workers, so many Philippine companies hope to continue their operations and business by foreign companies.

“So, I say two more – I have kept my fingers cross,” Alino added. (Aelein Talipping)
