Former NBA stars Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard and former women’s star Suz Bird were one of the 17 finals of the Nicemith Basketball Hall of 2025.
Coaches Billy Tonovan and Mark are one of the 17 finals named Friday by the 2008 US Olympic men. The new class will be announced on April 5 at the end of the NCAA at San Antonio.
Former NBA players Marx Johnson and Buck Williams, referee Danny Kraford, coach Jerry Welsh and women’s players Jennifer Azi, Sylvia Fols and Maya Moore were named.
Former selected player Molly Pollin, formerly selected from the Women’s Veterans Group, nominated the International Group, Tusan Ivkovic and the contributors group Mickey Arisicon (owner) and Dal Bradi (Ambassador).
“Choosing the final contestant for the class of 2025 is a significant achievement of the Hall of Fam, which refers to the better and prolonged influence of the game,” said Nismith Basketball Hall of Fam Fame Chairman Jerry Colonloo. “This recognition is beyond statistics and accolades – this is the time, the people who define the time, inspired generations and the basketball are their skills, leadership and commitment.
“Whether players, coaches, teams or contributors, every final contestant has left an immortal identity in the game. We are proud to celebrate their extraordinary impact.”
The induction festivals will be held on September 6 at Springfield, Moses.
In NBA history, Anthony ranks 10th with 28,289 industrial points and is 10 times all-Star. He won three Olympic Gold Medals (2008, 2012, 2016), took Sairakus to the 2003 NCAA title and named the 75th anniversary of the NBA in 2021.
