Shah Jahanpur: Four workers died and 16 injured when the van crashed into an unidentified vehicle, police said Thursday. Advisory Police Superintendent (Rural) Manoj Kumar Avasti said the accident occurred on Wednesday night near Vichola village.
The van carrying workers and their families was on the way to Haryana. This collapsed after being attacked by an unidentified vehicle, resulting in two passengers immediately died – Shyamwati (60) and Samila (26). The police rescued others and later taken to the Farugabad district hospital, where Ram Kumari (35) and Lavkush (30) were injured during treatment.
The official said that 16 injured are currently being treated at the hospital. The victims were traveling to Haryana for labor work in the residents of Sitapur district and in a hired van. Attempts are underway to find an unidentified vehicle in the crash, Avasti added.
