Stefanos Tsitsipas, currently ranked No. 7 globally, reflects on the crucial wisdom he aims to glean from Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic regarding energy conservation throughout a Grand Slam tournament. Despite being a prominent figure in the tennis world for years, the 25-year-old Greek player is still chasing his dream of clinching a Grand Slam title.

Having reached two Grand Slam finals in his career, Tsitsipas faced a tough loss to Novak Djokovic at the 2021 French Open, despite initially holding a two-set lead. A similar fate awaited him at this year’s US Open, where Djokovic once again emerged victorious.

“When it comes to winning a Grand Slam, I’ve come close. I had my moments. Perhaps what eluded me was the right level of energy management. I tend to exert myself excessively on the court. If you observe champions like Djokovic, Federer, and even Nadal, they possess a profound understanding of how to navigate the demands of a Grand Slam. The only instance in my career where I exhibited astute energy management was at the 2019 Masters, which I clinched. Achieving mastery in this aspect takes time, but I’m steadfast on this path. I haven’t thrown in the towel yet,” Tsitsipas shared, as reported by The Tennis Letter.

In the recent Grand Slams, Stefanos Tsitsipas has faced a series of challenges. Following his loss in the Australian Open final, Tsitsipas advanced to the quarterfinals at the French Open. However, his journey took a downturn with a formidable 6-2, 6-1, 7-6 (5) defeat against Carlos Alcaraz. Moving on to Wimbledon, Tsitsipas reached the round-of-16 but was met with an unexpected loss to Christopher Eubanks.

Unfortunately, Tsitsipas’ 2023 Grand Slam season concluded on a disappointing note, as he was taken aback by Dominic Stricker in the second round of the US Open. The question remains whether Tsitsipas will be able to achieve his Grand Slam aspirations in the upcoming 2024 season.
