Emma Raducanu’s Candid Revelation: Her True Feelings About Being Sidelined

Emma Raducanu Eagerly Anticipates Tennis Return After Surgery, Confirms 2024 Comeback In an inspiring update, Emma Raducanu has expressed her deep longing for tennis and her enthusiasm to get back on the court. After a series of injury setbacks in the early stages of the 2023 season, Raducanu made the decision to undergo surgeries on both her wrists and right ankle in May.

Since her hiatus, Raducanu has been diligently training in the gym and keeping her skills sharp. She recently shared her passion for the sport in an Instagram post, writing, “Got the bug to go, miss this.”

Raducanu made her intentions clear about her return to the game in 2024. The 2021 US Open champion is determined to make a strong comeback, stating, “Next season I’ll be back. This season all the slams were finished, so it was difficult to watch them go by, but I was trying to stay in my lane as much as possible and keep focused on my recovery,” during an interview with BBC London.

Although Raducanu hasn’t officially announced her comeback plans, it is widely expected that she is aiming to be ready for the start of the 2024 season. Auckland tournament director Nicolas Lamperin revealed that discussions have taken place, saying, “There have been some talks, but it’s too early to say, because we still don’t have a set return date. The door is open if she wants to come, but we have had to go after other players, with whom we have more certainty. It’s not off the table, but we’d need more time, because we still don’t know when she’s coming back.”

Raducanu’s previous experience at the Auckland tournament, where she suffered an ankle injury and criticized the court conditions, raised eyebrows when Lamperin indicated that they had engaged in discussions about her potential return in 2024. The exact details of Raducanu’s return, including when and where it will officially begin, are still to be determined.
