Miomir Kecmanovic and Alejandro Davidovich Fokin desire to win their first ATP title in Delray. Neither Serbian nor the Spaniard won this ATP 250 event in its 33-year history. So who will be crowned by the master ATP Beach Delray?
ATP DELRAY BEACH FINAL FRONT
Miomir Kecmanovic vs Alejandro Davidovich Fokina
Head to the head: Kecmanovic 3-0 Davidovich Fokina
Miomir Kecmanovic won three matches to achieve his second final at the Delray Beach Open (in 2023 Taylor Fritz lost). Kecmanovic benefited in the second round, but this did not affect his dynamics in quarterfinal and semifinal matches. In Marcos Giron and Alex Michelsen, he defeated two favorites. Kecmanovic dropped one file during the week. This will be his fifth career final (he won one title for Clay of Kitzbuhel).
In the meantime, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina enjoys a great start until 2025. He compiled five wins last year. But he doubled this record barely two months to the new season. He reached the second week of the Australian Open and now advanced to his second ATP final (he lost the lonely final in Monte Carle 2022 for Stefanos Tsitsipas). Davidovich Fokina wrote a great break in Delray when he ended up in the quarterfinal of Fritz’s three peat bogs (he won two set with a tie). He is the first Spanish to reach the Delray final in 25 years. Like Kecmanovic, he lost one in the tournament.
Both men surpassed the ATP Delray Beach competition. Kecmanovic owns a perfect 3-0 record in this match, but two of the three meetings were decided in three sets. And for two years they played. David’s Fokina plays so much energy, intensity and mental purity. In the turbulent season 2024 he missed these attributes and lost 22 out of 42 matches. It is also synonymous with being a rhythmic disturber and his excellent movement will allow him to impose in this match. This first ATP title looks very his.
Forecast: Davidovich Fokina in 3
