SportsNet Pittsburgh adds on-air talent for Penguins season

SportsNet Pittsburgh Welcomes New On-Air Talent Ahead of Penguins’ Season

The Pittsburgh Penguins are gearing up for the upcoming season with some fresh faces on their newly acquired television network, SportsNet Pittsburgh. In an announcement made on Monday, the team revealed three new additions to their coverage team for the network, which is taking over from AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh and is owned by the Penguins, operated by New England Sports Network.

The trio of new hires includes Josh Getzoff, who will serve as the play-by-play announcer, Hailey Hunter as the rinkside reporter, and Dan Potash, who will take on the role of studio host.

Josh Getzoff is already well acquainted with the team, having previously worked with the Pittsburgh Penguins Radio Network as the play-by-play analyst during the 2020 season.

Hailey Hunter joins the Penguins after covering golf and the Olympics for NBC, bringing her experience to the hockey world.

Dan Potash is no stranger to the Penguins, having served as the team’s rinkside reporter since 2005. In his new role, Potash will handle pre- and post-game shows for the upcoming season.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the Penguins would be parting ways with play-by-play announcer Steve Mears, who had held the role since 2017, and former Penguins player and color analyst Bob Errey.

SportsNet Pittsburgh is set to kick off its coverage of the 2023-24 season on October 2 with a preseason matchup against the Ottawa Senators. The team has indicated that further announcements regarding the remainder of the TV coverage team will be made at a later date.
