The National Basketball Association (NBA), a premier American basketball tournament, has recently announced an expansive multi-year broadcast partnership with TNT Sports, a collaborative effort between media powerhouses Warner Bros.

Discovery Sports Europe and BT Group. This groundbreaking deal will offer fans in the UK and Ireland exclusive access to over 250 live NBA games, along with a diverse range of NBA programming available solely on TNT Sports’ platforms.

Commencing on October 24, TNT Sports will kick off its comprehensive NBA coverage with an exciting doubleheader on the inaugural night of play. The festivities will commence with the reigning NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets, being presented with their championship rings before they go head-to-head with the Los Angeles Lakers, a rematch of the Western Conference Finals from the previous season. The second matchup will feature the Phoenix Suns taking on the Golden State Warriors.

Throughout the duration of this partnership, TNT Sports will broadcast major NBA events, showcasing at least nine regular-season games per week. This coverage will encompass the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament, the NBA Playoffs, the Finals, the NBA All-Star Game, and the NBA Draft.

Additionally, TNT Sports will air an extra 40 weekend games during primetime as part of “NBA Saturdays and NBA Sundays” during the 2023–24 season.

To ensure an immersive viewing experience for fans, TNT Sports will provide both live and on-demand coverage of all matches and content included in this partnership. Discovery+ will solidify its position as the NBA’s primary streaming platform in the UK by offering this extensive coverage.

Trojan Paillot, Vice President of Sports Rights Acquisitions and Syndication at Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe, expressed excitement about this new venture, stating, “We are hugely excited to be embarking on this journey with the NBA in the UK and Ireland.

Fans watching basketball on our platforms will have much to look forward to, and we’re privileged to be able to lean on the outstanding foundation of TNT’s broadcasting of the NBA in the United States for over 30 years.”

Elsa Memmi, NBA Europe and Middle East Vice President of Global Media Distribution, also shared her enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to build on our long-standing collaboration with TNT in the U.S. to bring live NBA games and programming to our passionate fans in the UK and Ireland.

With regular weekend games in primetime, extensive coverage of our marquee events, and original programming and highlights, fans now have a new home for the NBA.”

Moreover, TNT Sports will offer a wide array of shows, including NBA highlight reels, original series, and vintage games, as an add-on to its live game coverage. Fans can access premium content like game reports and highlights on TNT Sports’ digital and social platforms, providing them with a rich and immersive NBA experience.

TNT Sports, having made its debut in July 2023, aims to be the go-to destination for sports enthusiasts. In the UK, Discovery+ serves as TNT Sports’ streaming home, offering a comprehensive package that includes live sports rights and entertainment, all accessible through a new Premium subscription at the same price as a BT Sport Monthly Pass.

This collaboration is set to redefine the NBA viewing experience for fans in the UK and Ireland, showcasing the league’s excitement and talent in an unprecedented way.
