The 32nd Rugby Partage faced an unexpected setback when it had to be canceled on Saturday, June 3, 2023, due to the intrusion of nearly 200 caravans onto the sports complex fields at the Ossun stadium on Friday, June 2. This unfortunate event had a profound impact on the association and its meticulously planned activities, which were designed to accommodate 800 young participants from rugby schools and adult adapted rugby programs.

However, resilience and determination prevailed on Saturday, October 7, 2023, as the association, along with dedicated volunteers and the event’s sponsor, Francis Bordenace, Mayor of Ossun, successfully orchestrated the 32nd Rugby Partage in the afternoon. This time, it hosted 335 participants from various rugby schools, including Rugby d’Argelès – Gazost, Tournay ESCA, Pouyastruc, Séméac, Maubourguet, EAE, Lous Maynats de l’Ovalie, and Ibos, spanning across the M6, M8, M10, and M12 age groups.

The tournament was particularly grateful for the unwavering support of rugby schools that have been steadfast allies of this event, especially at the beginning of the season. As a tradition, all the young participants departed with medals and trophies to commemorate the day.

A special note of appreciation goes out to “Plegas dé Votzs,” whose musical talents added a melodious and lyrical touch to the conclusion of the tournament.

It’s worth noting that the Municipality of Ossun, under the leadership of Mayor Francis Bordenave, played a pivotal role in making the 32nd Rugby Partage a reality. Their support has rekindled the spirit of the entire organizing team, headed by Serge and Michèle, who are now diligently working on planning the 33rd Rugby Partage, set to take place in June 2024.

As the saying goes, “We all have something to share,” and this event exemplifies the power of community and perseverance. The organizers extend their heartfelt thanks to Benoit Mournet, Deputy, Marie-Françoise Prugent, and Marc Begorre, departmental councilors, as well as Pierre Jean-Marie and Yves Lansac of CD65, Jean-Yves Mouret, President of CDOS, Francis Bordenave, Mayor, and the members of the municipal council, not to forget Marie Christine Dumoulier, Louey sports assistant.

Mark your calendars for June 2024 as the 33rd Rugby Partage promises to be another memorable celebration of unity and the spirit of rugby. See you there!
