Even the eight-time world champion, Marc Marquez, finds himself ensnared in the Indian visa turmoil that has affected numerous individuals in the MotoGP community. Many team members and members of the media have faced unexpected travel disruptions this week due to prolonged visa processing delays, with some hopeful travelers even arriving at airports, only to be denied last-minute access.

Marquez is among those affected by this unfortunate disruption, and he shared his experience on Instagram today (Tuesday), saying, “Flight delayed due to a visa shortage for #IndiaGP. So, for the time being, we’ll opt for a different mode of transportation.

The satellite LCR Honda team has confirmed that their entire crew has successfully arrived in India. However, Moto3 rider Filippo Farioli has encountered a situation akin to Marquez’s visa delay.

The inaugural Indian MotoGP at the Buddh International Circuit is set to kick off its opening practice session on Friday morning, despite earlier safety concerns.

In anticipation of this weekend’s event, Marquez expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am genuinely thrilled to connect with all the fans in India. It’s always a special moment when we bring MotoGP to a new country, introduce our sport and passion to new people and fans.”

He continued, “We’ll need to put in a lot of work to grasp the intricacies of the track and our own performance with the bike. Our goal is to replicate the successful weekend we had in Misano, steadily building each day and delivering strong performances in both races. Let’s gear up for India and the opportunity to meet everyone!”

While the immediate focus remains on this weekend’s races, it’s worth noting that paddock personnel, and notably the freight, will need to make their way to Motegi, Japan, in time for the following Friday’s practice sessions.
