Indonesian Government Prepares to Propose Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara as F1 Host, Says Sandiaga UnoThis announcement was made by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno. However, according to Sandiaga Uno, the decision depends on the potential benefits the country can gain.

I have invited experienced individuals in the F1 racing field. We will assess and if it proves advantageous, we will submit it for consideration,” Sandi stated after participating as a guest speaker in a digital marketing training session with youth in Mataram, NTB, on Saturday night, October 14, 2023.

Sandiaga emphasized that all decisions must be made carefully. He used the example of the impact of MotoGP, which has been held in Mandalika twice.

It has to be evaluated comprehensively. Last year, I calculated that the impact of having MotoGP in Mandalika has already reached over 30,000 job openings,” Sandi said.

Meanwhile, the profit gained from the tourism sector with the existence of the Mandalika Circuit reaches 500 million US dollars or equivalent to 8 trillion Indonesian Rupiahs.

Sandiaga expressed great satisfaction with the investment value in Mandalika, particularly in the tourism sector.

Later, we will send a team to assess the satisfaction level of the local area as well as the UMKM players in NTB regarding the impact of MotoGP,” Sandi added.
