UFC heavyweight Walt Harris is facing a suspension until mid-2024, according to a Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) official. The suspension is the result of a one-year ban and a $392.60 fine for a positive test for drostanolone and its metabolites on June 24. This test occurred out of competition, which means there is no purse fine associated with it.

Walt Harris will become eligible to return to competition on June 24, 2024. This marks the second positive test in his career. In 2019, he tested positive for LGD4033, a muscle-wasting medication, which was attributed to a tainted supplement. As a result, he received a four-month suspension from the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC), and his UFC 232 victory was overturned.

Harris, who is 40 years old, was forthcoming about the positive test, and he even took it upon himself to announce the news when his UFC on ESPN 49 bout against Josh Parisian was canceled in July.
