Bobby Green, known for his rare submission wins, achieved a significant victory by tapping Tony Ferguson, a historically tough fighter to submit in the UFC lightweight division.

At UFC 291 in July, Green secured a career-defining win by submitting former interim champion Tony Ferguson with an arm-triangle choke in the closing moments of their bout. This remarkable finish earned Green a well-deserved $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus.

This victory marked Bobby Green’s first submission win since his triumph over Jacob Volkmann at UFC 156 in 2013. Additionally, it was only the third time that Tony Ferguson had been submitted in his 22-fight tenure with the promotion.

You can witness Green’s impressive finish in the video provided above.

Bobby Green (30-14-1 MMA, 11-9-1 UFC) is set to return this Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night 229, hosted at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The event will be streamed on ESPN+, and he will face the emerging contender Grant Dawson (20-1-1 MMA, 8-0-1 UFC)
