Sweden’s premier professional league shines with added star power this season. Historically dominated by Lulea and Brynas, this year sees newly promoted Frolunda join the fray, matching the giants with an undefeated start through three games.

In a weekend clash, Frolunda secured their third consecutive victory, triumphing 5-2 over HV71. Hanna Olsson continued her impressive form with her third goal of the season, also contributing an assist. Kaitlyn Yearwood, Ella Hellman, and Lindsay Agnew each had a goal and an assist for Frolunda.

Five-time reigning champions Lulea showcased their skill with a dominant 4-0 shutout against Linkoping. Finnish national team stars Petra Nieminen, Viivi Vainikka, Noora Tulus, and Swedish national team member Lisa Johansson all found the net.

Meanwhile, Brynas maintained their undefeated status, defeating SDE 4-2. Maja Nylen Persson, leading the league in points among Brynas’ defensemen, scored, alongside goals from Jenniina Nylund, Julia Ostlund, and Hanna Thuvik. In a losing effort, North American rookies Lauren Dabrowski and Shae Demale each notched their second goals of the season for SDE.

Klara Peslarova, one of the world’s top goaltenders, returned to the net for Brynas after an injury-riddled last season. She made 24 saves to secure the win.
