Winona State’s Men’s Golf Team Begins Competition in Missouri

St. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Winona State University men’s golf squad is set to kick off the Holiday Inn Express Invitational, hosted by Missouri Western University, spanning from Monday, October 9th, to Tuesday, October 10th.

Under the leadership of the current NSIC Men’s Golf Player of the Week, Alessandro Trenta, Winona State aims to maintain their strong team performance, which recently secured them the 2023 Watkins Invitational team championship just two weeks ago. During the Watkins Invitational, Trenta showcased his skills by securing the top spot, posting an impressive score of 137 over two rounds. As a collective, Winona State registered a score of 563, surpassing second-place Sioux Falls by a margin of three shots.

In St. Joseph, Winona State will contend with fellow NSIC competitors such as Concordia University, St. Paul, Minnesota Crookston, Minnesota State, and Bemidji State, alongside numerous other prominent NCAA Division II men’s golf programs.
