In the Nassau Intercollegiate Tournament, Le Moyne College’s men’s golf team secured a sixth-place finish, with graduate student Nicholas Bove leading the way, tying for eighth place. The tournament, hosted by LIU at the par-70 Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y., saw the host Sharks take the team championship with a total score of 861 over three rounds. The University of Rhode Island claimed second place with a score of 866, followed by Villanova University in third with 874. Le Moyne’s Dolphins finished in sixth place overall with a combined score of 902.

Nicholas Bove delivered his best 54-hole performance of the year, ending in a tie for eighth place with a score of 219. He displayed consistency with nine pars, which ranked third in the field. Bove’s journey included an opening round of 75, a second round of 74, and a third-round 70 featuring five birdies and eight pars.

Freshman Owen Corby tied for 15th place with a total score of 224, showcasing his prowess on par-5s and recording one of the tournament’s three eagles. He started with a 72, followed by a 77, and concluded with a 75.

Junior Johnny Gruninger finished in a tie for 22nd place, recording a season-best 225 over the three rounds. His performance included a 74 in the first round, a 73 in the second, and a final round of 78.

Senior Justin Fiato secured 39th place with a total score of 235, while senior Spencer Baum tied for 40th with a score of 236.

Le Moyne College’s men’s golf team will conclude the Fall season at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate hosted by Wagner College at the Montclair Golf Club in West Orange, N.J. on the following Monday and Tuesday.
