After 14 tournaments in 2023, LIV Golf’s individual rankings are divided into three zones.

  • Lock Zone: The top 24 golfers secure their spots for the next season.
  • Open Zone: Golfers finishing between positions 24-44 face potential transfers.
  • Drop Zone: Golfers below position 45 are relegated from the system.

These zones apply to all golfers except team captains and those with non-transfer agreements. Four golfers are relegated to the “Drop Zone”: Jediah Morgan, James Piot, Chase Koepka, and Sihwan Kim.

Meanwhile, 13 golfers find themselves in the “Open Zone,” including Abraham Ancer, Matthew Wolff, Pat Perez, Danny Lee, David Puig, Eugenio Lopez-Chacarra, Thomas Pieters, Paul Casey, Matt Jones, Charl Schwartzel, Sam Horsfield, Bernd Wiesberger, and Graeme McDowell. They might stay or sign with other teams through the transfer market.

Golfers in the Drop Zone will have a chance to return to LIV Golf through a promotion tournament featuring 72 holes scheduled for December. Three slots to join LIV Golf will be up for grabs. The tournament will feature top golfers from major championships, PGA Tour, DP World Tour, Asian Tour, top amateur champions, and golfers ranked in the top 200 globally.
