The Fort Dodge boys golf team recently concluded their season by hosting a Class 4A district meet at the Fort Dodge Country Club. Despite facing tough competition, the Dodgers finished in 11th place overall. State qualifiers included West Des Moines Valley, Johnston, and Ankeny, while individual advancements were achieved by Dylan Susemihl of Le Mars and Jack White of Sioux City Heelan.

Leading the Fort Dodge squad was freshman Davis Underberg, who posted a score of 90. Following closely were freshman Mason Frevert (92) and senior Evan Pratt (93). Sophomore Jaxson Dencklau rounded up the team with a score of 101. Coach Nick Vinson acknowledged the challenging conditions and emphasized the need for improvement in the offseason, both physically and mentally.

In terms of the team standings, Le Mars, Heelan, and Marshalltown finished behind the Tigers, Dragons, and Hawks. CT Norris of Valley claimed the meet’s medalist title with an even-par 71. Vinson expressed pride in Evan Pratt’s performance and thanked the senior members of the team.

Looking ahead, Vinson remains optimistic about the team’s potential, with several young players set to return and a commitment to improvement. Despite the challenges, the future looks promising for the Fort Dodge boys golf team.
