Superstar forwards Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé made significant contributions on Wednesday, enhancing their teams’ prospects of advancing in the Champions League.

Haaland scored twice in Manchester City’s 3-1 victory over Young Boys in Group G, while Mbappé played a crucial role in Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-0 home win against AC Milan in Group F.

Haaland, who has scored nine goals in as many Premier League matches this season, ended his Champions League goal drought with his double. Meanwhile, Mbappé, who has eight goals in eight Ligue 1 games, added to his Champions League tally.

Manchester City now only needs to secure a win against Young Boys in their next encounter to secure a spot in the last 16. Barcelona is also in a similar position after their 2-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, maintaining a perfect start to their Champions League campaign.

In Group E, Feyenoord is in a strong position to advance to the knockout stage for the first time in six seasons. They defeated Lazio 3-1, with Santiago Gimenez scoring twice and Ramiz Zerrouki adding a goal. Atlético Madrid, on the other hand, was held to a surprising 2-2 draw by Celtic. Feyenoord now leads the group, one point ahead of Atlético Madrid, with Lazio a point behind the Spanish team and three points above Celtic.

In Group F, PSG bounced back from their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle and moved to the top of the group. Kylian Mbappé and Randal Kolo Muani scored for PSG, while Warren Zaïre-Emery assisted two goals, including one for South Korean winger Lee Kang-in. PSG is now two points clear of Borussia Dortmund, who won 1-0 against Newcastle.

Felix Nmecha capitalized on Nico Schlotterbeck’s cross in the 45th minute to hand the Saudi-owned English team their first defeat in their 20-year comeback to the competition.

Seven-time champion Milan continued to struggle in Group F, failing to secure a win or score and falling four points behind PSG.

In Group G, Haaland ended his goal drought in the Champions League, scoring a crucial penalty in the 67th minute to give Manchester City a 2-1 lead. The Norwegian striker sealed the victory with a stunning curling shot into the top corner in the

86th minute, marking his 37th goal in 33 Champions League games. Manuel Akanji had earlier given City the lead, but the titleholders conceded soon after through Meschack Elia. With the win, City moved to nine points, three clear of second-place Leipzig, who secured a 3-1 victory over Red Star Belgrade.

Meanwhile, in Group H, Barcelona, a five-time European champion, maintained its course to progress to the knockout round after securing two consecutive group-stage eliminations. Ferran Torres and Fermín López scored in the first half for

Barcelona, which holds a three-point advantage over second-place Porto. Porto secured a 4-1 win at Antwerp, with a second-half hat trick from substitute Evanilson. Antwerp, despite taking a surprise lead, remained without a point, while Shakhtar trailed Barcelona by six points.
