Virat Kohli heads to Mumbai for personal matters, set to rejoin India squad on Monday, as per reports.

The Indian cricket team arrived in Thiruvananthapuram for their final ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 warm-up game, sans star batter Virat Kohli, who will join a day later due to personal reasons. The Indian squad traveled from Guwahati, while Kohli flew to Mumbai.

According to Cricbuzz, Kohli is expected to rejoin the team for an optional training session on Monday, weather permitting, at the KCA – St Xavier’s College Cricket Ground, Thiruvananthapuram.

Kohli is preparing for his fourth ODI World Cup, having previously clinched the title in 2011 and captained the team in the last edition in England, where they reached the semifinals.

In the lead-up to the tournament, Kohli reflected on the past two-and-a-half years of his career, acknowledging the learning curve. He mentioned overcoming phases without century scores and refining his approach based on past successes.

Despite the team’s practice match against the Netherlands scheduled for Tuesday, adverse weather conditions are predicted, raising concerns about a potential washout.
