In the most recent ICC Rankings, unveiled by the governing body on October 18, India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, and South African opener, Quinton de Kock, have seen significant advancements.

Both Rohit and de Kock have initiated their campaigns in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in remarkable fashion. De Kock began with a stunning display, amassing two centuries in his first two matches. In contrast, Rohit faced a setback against Australia, registering a duck, but swiftly recovered by delivering impressive performances with scores of 131 and 86 against Afghanistan and Pakistan, respectively.

Quinton de Kock has ascended three positions to secure the third spot in the ODI batting rankings, surpassing his teammate Rassie van der Dussen, who now holds the fourth position. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has surged five places upward to clinch the sixth position. At the pinnacle of the rankings sits Pakistan’s captain, Babar Azam, who managed to secure a half-century against India. Following him closely is Shubman Gill.

Additionally, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the Afghan opener, has climbed an impressive 19 places to reach the 18th position, while Netherlands’ captain, Scott Edwards, has advanced 16 places to land in the 27th spot after delivering notable performances with half-centuries against England and South Africa, respectively.
