BCCI to Release 14,000 Tickets for India vs Pakistan Clash in Ahmedabad on October 14″ The Board of Cricket Council India (BCCI) is gearing up to make 14,000 tickets available for the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan League match scheduled for October 14 in Ahmedabad. The ticket sale is set to begin at 12 PM IST on October 8, 2023.

The absence of spectators during the opening games of the 2023 World Cup had raised concerns about the crowd presence in the stadium. The opening match between reigning champions England and 2019 tournament winners New Zealand on Thursday saw a largely empty Narendra Modi Stadium.

This is not the first time the BCCI faced challenges leading up to the World Cup. They made date changes for nine matches shortly before the tournament, causing confusion among fans.

The schedule for the 2023 World Cup was first revealed on June 27, less than 100 days before the event began. This contrasted with the 2018 World Cup, where the fixtures were announced over a year in advance. The schedule underwent additional adjustments due to concerns from hosting associations regarding clashes with other important events in the city.

The final fixture list was amended on August 9, less than two months before the tournament’s first game on October 5. Ticket sales for non-India games started on August 24 for Mastercard holders and a day later for the general public. Fans had the opportunity to purchase India match tickets from August 29 to September 3.

On September 6, the BCCI announced the release of an additional 400,000 tickets for all matches, a detail that had not been mentioned earlier. However, there was no clear communication regarding the timing of this release, further adding to concerns about the World Cup’s planning.

Bookmyshow had to release extra tickets for the tournament after their website initially crashed, leading to massive online queues and complaints.

All eyes are now on Ahmedabad as India faces Pakistan on October 14. The two teams have met seven times in the ODI World Cup, with India emerging victorious on all seven occasions. Rohit Sharma’s team aims to secure India’s third World Cup title, while Pakistan seeks their first World Cup triumph since 1992.
