The Phillies are now in command with a 2-0 series lead as they continued their dominant performance in Game 2 of the NLCS. Aaron Nola pitched six shutout innings, and the Phillies unleashed their offense to secure a resounding 10-0 victory. Their power surge added three more home runs to their impressive tally of 15 over their last four games, setting a new postseason record.

Trea Turner and Kyle Schwarber got things rolling with early solo home runs, giving the Phillies a 2-0 advantage against Diamondbacks’ starter Merrill Kelly. Schwarber, with his second solo homer of the game, a mighty 445-foot shot in the bottom of the sixth inning, extended the lead to 3-0. It was reported by Fox Sports that this was the first home run Kelly had given up on a changeup this season. Schwarber’s pivotal hit sparked a four-run inning.

In the seventh inning, the Phillies added two more runs courtesy of a two-run double from Alec Bohm, who later crossed the plate to increase the lead to 9-0. A sacrifice fly by Nick Castellanos then made it a commanding 10-0.

Aaron Nola had an exceptional outing, tallying seven strikeouts while allowing just three hits during his six shutout innings, and the Phillies’ bullpen effectively finished the job on the mound.

With the series moving to Phoenix for Game 3 on Thursday, the Phillies are looking to maintain their momentum.
