In the Old Navy, a group of 10 clothing items monitored between May and December 2024.
The group found that the old naval wear was on sale in at least half of those seven months, in which one item was on sale all over time.
Online, there were time sensitive discounts, but there were sales prices after the time.
“Honest and transparent procedures go a long way. It is very difficult to create confidence and easy to break,” said Ying Ju, Associate Professor of Management of the British Columbia University, British Columbia University.
“They need to put themselves in the shoes of the consumers.”
The Canadian tire refused an interview, but it was emailed by emailing “carefully planned weekly ads” and understands the challenges faced by many Canadians in today’s economic environment.
“Many factors are taken into consideration when determining the price and advertising of our products, and we indicate whether or not our customers are offering the lowest price of the season or the year,” the email said.
