‘Could not solve the problems of the allegations or parliamentary conduct’: the first CM Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed hope that the election defeat would not disrupt the budget session, which was frustrated by the election defeat on Tuesday (February 18, 2025).

Speaking to reporters ahead of the Budget Session (2025-26), Mr. Adityanath said that the address of the governor and the presentation of the budget is important events that each member, including the opposition, can effectively present their views.

“The allegations or parliamentary behavior cannot be solved,” he said.

The Chief Minister promised that the government was fully ready to respond to any issues raised by the opposition.

He said the assembly should act as a base for meaningful discussions, rather than being distorted by unfounded allegations or unruly behavior.

Mr. Adityanath hoped that the governor’s address would mark the beginning of the decent and creative attitude from the opposition.

“We hope to see the opposition. All members are conducting themselves in a way that strengthens public confidence in democratic values,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the session would begin with the address of the governor.

The Uttar Pradesh Budget for 2025-26 will be issued on February 20.

The session, which is scheduled for February 18 to March 5, will include a major legislative business, including the implementation of the state budget, debates on subsidies and debates on public interest and development issues.

Mr Adityanath highlighted that the legislature was rarely convened for such an extended period of history in the history of Uttar Pradesh.

He emphasized that ensuring the smooth behavior of the activities is not only the responsibility of the ruling party but also the opposition.

“The house should be a site for debate and debate,” he stressed.

The Chief Minister also pointed out a significant change in the opinion of Uttar Pradesh under the BJP -led double engine government over the past eight years.

“These achievements will reflect the governor’s address and legislative debates,” he said.

When Uttar Pradesh becomes the focus of attraction worldwide, a hopeless opposition is often trying to avoid debates on such improvements.

He stressed the opposition to engaging in constructive debates, noted that they would be very useful if the budget session was favorable.

The session, scheduled for March 5, will discuss the address of the governor, raise key issues, deliberately and demands on the public, and to implement important legislative programs.

Cabinet Ministers Suresh Khanna and Tarambal Singh and Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh were also present.
