Today’s six years of providing housing solutions to the Philipinos, especially in the marginalized communities, the human settlements and the Urban Development Department (DHSUD) are a tool to develop strong shelters that develop growing communities in the Philippines.

DHSUD has the purpose of creating and regulating housing projects across the country in 2019. He works especially in ensuring that the basic housing needs of all the Philippines families are met. It oversees home policies, housing projects, urban planning and development.

DHSUD has emerged from the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), a government agency that coordinates government shelter operations; And Housing and Land Utilization Regulatory Board (Hlurb), which controls housing and growth. The department also oversees the country’s major shelter agencies such as the National Housing Authority, PAG-IBIG funds, social housing funding corporation and the National Home Mortgage Fund Corporation.

DHSUD is working to improve housing and urban growth by providing quality, affordable housing that supports the Philippines families to revive communities and support the families of the Philippines families, as it contributes to the developing economy.

Another significant chapter to the department of the previous year is that it continues to implement successful efforts to further strengthen houses in the country. In these initiatives, the DHSUD presents the National Housing Program more effectively. Bambansang Babahe Para S.A. Philipino Housing Program or 4 pH.

According to the DHSD secretary, the 4 pH project is designed to address housing backlifting by providing decent, safe and affordable home units to the Philipinos. Launched in 2022, 4PH is a primary project, including DHSUD, Local Government Units (LGUs), GFIs, GFIs, Housing Partners, Private Banks, Developers and Contractors.

“4PH is the formula we have created to solve our housing backlink. We must find a way to accelerate this process and increase government resources,” said Jose Risalino L. Akusar, formerly in mixed English and the Philippines.

“Our government focuses on providing the Philipinos good housing. They are now within our range. Such housing construction is expected to be completed in two and a half years, and you can see it all over the country,” the secretary added.

Last year, the department started the distribution of home units of the 4Ph project under the 4Ph program, which was for the foreign Philippine workers in Palayan, Puthuva ECija. According to DHSUD, this effort is centered on the creation of vertical housing or condominium improvements on a government -owned land to benefit a large number of Philipinos.

In addition, the company has joined the University of Philippines (above) in an effort to provide affordable homes in stable communities. UP for this partnership DHSUD Helps build housing for university teachers and staff in Dilman.

In addition, a total of 56 projects are currently upgrading in various parts of the country, including Pampanga, Newva ECija, Cuisan City, Kalukan and other parts of the country.

Strengthening the disaster response

The department is firm in providing shelter instead of disaster by assistance in replacement of cash aid, credit period and replacement from risk zones.

DHSUD’s integrated disaster shelter assistance scheme (IDSAP) is a main example of the home needs of the Philipinos during disasters. Launched last year, the scheme supports the victims by providing cash aid to the damaged shelters: P10,000 for completely destroyed homes and some of the damaged houses.

Also, when the tropical Christin struck last year, the agency used P130 million to assist the disaster victims. It has distributed housing and essential commodities to thousands of families and instructed their major shelter agencies to relax and suspend monthly housing payments to its members in affected areas.

“We want a trusted government under the Bagong Philipinas, and that this project will ensure that the help we provide from the beginning of the disaster to the rehabilitation and recovery is complete,” said Mr Akusar. “We want to get the help of the government immediately. They have already suffered from hurricanes and earthquakes … We want to quench our services by quick monitoring our services.”

Rehabilitation

DHSUD has been working on the rehabilitation of the Pasik River. Apart from improving the quality of its water and the rehabilitation program, the rehabilitation program is aimed at improving housing among informal immigrants living on the banks of the river.

The first phase of the Pasik River Urban Development Project began in 2024, including the 500 -meter display box area, stretching from Manila Central Office to Intromrose.

With the DHSUD leading the Pasik River Urban Development (IAC-Prat) Inter-Agency Council, the project is trying to significantly improve housing, transport and tourism in the region. The project includes pedestrian friendly infrastructure, business zones, green spaces, bike paths and water transport.

Other agencies involved in the Pacic River Urban Development Program include the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Public Works Department and Highways Department (DPWH) and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

“Housing for thugs and informal immigrants is currently being built. Look at the poor living under the Pasik River. This is not a beautiful vision. When they work in rejuvenating the Pasik River, there are at least 40,000 to 50,000 home units. And the residents of the river are aimed at not being ignored, ”said Mr Akusar. Angela Kiara S. Bright
