The World Cup hockey is back in 2028.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bedman and NHL Players Association Managing Director Marty Walsh announced on Wednesday that the men’s international competition will be withdrawn.
The World Cup will be held in February 2028, instead of the All-Star weekend, which will be held yet.
The league states that the auction process for Host cities and places is expected to be opened in the coming months.
NHL last held the World Cup in Toronto in 2016. In the eight -team competition, Canada, the United States, Russia, Sweden, Finland and Chechia are a group of all stars from North America and Group Europe, Europe.
Bedman has repeatedly said that every two years should have a better international competition.
The NHL players will return to the Olympics for the first time in 2014 to 2026, missing the 2018 and 2022 games.
Between Canada, the United States, Sweden and Finland, 4 countries act as an Olympic appetite. The Round Robin Tournament runs the curtains on Wednesday in Montreal to the end of February 20.
Russia was excluded from the ongoing war in Ukraine. The International Snow Hockey Federation has banned Russia and its allies by at least 2025-26 calendar from events.
