Seven Pickleball players Basingstoke Pickleball competed last weekend in the English state form of Pickleball 2023, held in Bolton Arena.

Basingstoke Pickleball Club players playing at completely tennis came home with an impressive medal, which included five gold, silver and bronze. Maisie Wise won gold in 4.0 mixed doubles with partner Luke Whitfield and doubles women with Michelle Wright. Harry Feast also included double gold with 4.0 and more men’s winnings and men without Partners. Daryl Blair (in the picture center wearing black) won gold in doubles 3.0+ men with partner Mark Titchner.

Pickleball coordinator Jill Gibson (in the picture far left in the photo below) won silver in 3.5 50+ family doubles with partner Claire Bourgoin and Blair (in the picture completely right) won bronze with his partner Katrina Stevens in the category 3.0+ 50+ 50+ mixed singles. Other players of Basingstoke, who finished at three -day events, were Graham Reeves and Lewis & Graham Oke.

Jill said about the event, “FAB event, well -organized and entertaining experience. Great to watch Pro. Everyone is so very friendly and supported in Pickleball. ”

Pickleball England, organizing an annual competition, said more than 680 players have registered playing (50% more than 2022) in a competition in different age groups and abilities. The event included Major League Pickleball – Team Event and wheelchair competitions. Bolton Arena was transformed to accommodate 24 Pickleball courts, including the championship court. Together with the sponsors of the Sketchers Pickleball, the other companies involved in the sponsorship were Franklin Pickleball (official ball sponsor), Scan Computers and UK Pickleball Shop.
